Non-Surgical Endodontic Services
Root canal therapy is designed to remove injured or infected pulp, then clean, disinfect, and fill root canals. Bone tissue will heal around properly sealed canals and not be reinfected.
Surgical Endodontic Services
Occasionally, a nonsurgically treated tooth can have persistent problems due to
a microscopical crack, calcification, or complex anatomy. Endodontists can perform
an Apicoectimy to remove the infected root tips and place Retrofills to achieve a perfect seal.
Properly selected resorptions can be repaired and cracked roots can be amputated as
surgery is performed under local anesthesia in a dental setting. Any ensuing discomfort is controlled well with medication to lessen the pain.
Endodontic Retreatment
On poorly filled canals, retreatment is an ideal option to clean, disinfect, and seal
properly. Dr. Sung is very experienced with using MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) cement to retreat challenging cases caused by apical resorption.
Diagnosis Using 3D Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT)
Using advanced 3D xray technology, Dr. Sung is able to use the enhanced imagery to better diagnosis issues patients may face.
With a clearer view of the problem, Dr. Sung can form the best possible treatment plan.
Surgical Implant Placement
By coordinating with your restorative dentist (typically your primary dentist), we are able to place implants on properly grafted and healed bone. Our office uses the top of the line Straumann Implant System.
